Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Okay, I'm going to do this as spoiler-free as possible:

Wow. Just... wow. This book was awesome. There have been a lot of "letdown" finales lately, and this was not one of them. This book was worth the wait. I laughed, I cried (I was on the train for most of the time I was reading, so I had to do both very quietly.) So much stuff happened. There was stuff I saw coming a mile and many books away, there was stuff that completely blindsided me. I am happy for all the couples who got together and sad for everyone who died, regardless of which side they were on. Some people died who I would have liked to see live, but no one lived who I thought deserved to die. Does that make any kind of sense? Even among the so-called "bad guys," there were very few truly evil people, and among the "good guys," there were none who were truly pure good. Everyone became increasingly complex as the series progressed, and a lot of those complexities were revealed in this book. Loose ends were tied up, and enough were left dangling to keep the fanfic writers busy until 2017 and beyond.

... And if you get why I said it like that, good on you!

Feeling Irish

I really, really want to go out bar-hopping on Saturday. I finally understand the principle of the College Party, namely that you have to be drunk enough that everything seems funny, but not so drunk that you lose control. And now I really want to go out for once in my life.

I miss people

I spent the last two weekends acting like a normal college student: hanging out with my friends, and partying with my friends. Last weekend I took an impromptu trip to Lancaster and stayed with Leah, Lauren, Karen and Jasneet; and this weekend I went back for the emo party.

I'm not usually a partier. I have trouble dealing with crowds and loud music. But, this was one of the funnest things I've ever done. Before people started really getting trashed, we were taking emo pictures, and apparently I'm scary when I'm being emo, because I have the emo glasses and the long, Wednesday-Addams-black hair. I drank a bit too much (I have almost no tolerance because I don't usually drink at all), so I switched to water fairly early on, and sobered up enough to remember: drunk people are funny.

In the afternoon, when everyone woke up, I went to the Wilbur factory in Lititz with Leah and Megan, and we got chocolate covered coffee beans, and then we went to Subway and had lunch and laughed quietly about the party and about the emo kids who were also there having lunch, and then they drove me to the train station so I could go home. And then I slept till 11 for the second day in a row.

I think I'm going back to Lancaster in a couple of weeks.
